Drum Repair
PTech repairs all types of drums and offers a wide range of services, including repairing damaged and broken hardware, trueing hoops, repairing wood shells, putting metal shells in round, removing dents in metal shells, and straightening bent parts. Custom work is also available, including adding or removing hardware, as well as restoration services.
Bearing Edges and Snare Beds
Bearing edges and snare beds are two of the most important and overlooked components of a drums sound and performance. Many drums whether old or new, inexpensive or top of the line, have inaccurate bearing edges and snare beds that hamper performance. A shell that is true and has accurate bearing edges is easier to tune, has a fuller sound, and has more resonance. A proper snare bed of the ideal depth and shape will give you great sensitivity, and a fat, crisp forte. Maximize the performance of your drums, and hear what you have been missing!
Custom Parts
PTech fabricates custom parts when needed for unique projects and for older instruments where parts are no longer available.
Timpani Repair
Wear and tear and age cause a wide array of problems for timpani. From maintenance and repair, to overhauls and complete restorations, PTech offers a full range of services to restore and improve sound and performance. Services can include repairing pedal systems and gauges, dent removal, putting bowls in round, and trueing hoops.
Mallet Instrument Repair
PTech repairs and restores all types of mallet instruments, including bells, xylophones, vibraphones, marimbas, and chimes. Older instruments can be updated with newer features, and a variety of custom upgrades are available to improve strength, durability, and function. PTech also offers bar repair and tuning services.
Hardware
PTech repairs hardware including bass drum pedals, hi-hat stands, snare drum stands, and cymbal stands. Stripped parts can be rethreaded, bent parts straightened, and spring/pedal systems repaired.
